Lea Ceramiche @ Cersaie 2017 Officina del Pensare
Bologna, September 2017
At Cersaie 2017, Lea Ceramiche, an iconic brand in the ceramic sector for creative vision and dialogue with the world of design, has presented an ambitious set of new collections that synthesize the company’s ability to interpret the latest trends in surfaces. The booth hosting the collections, which this year is once again designed by Diego Grandi, was a journey into the soul of the brand, a workshop, “Officina del Pensare”, where thought, vision and know how are transformed creatively to give shape to the most advanced materials.
From thin ceramic laminates to products made in collaboration with the most renowned international designers, the various areas showed how, over the years, expertise, experience and technology have succeeded in transforming an ancient material like ceramics into a high-performance product, keeping pace with styles and tastes in design. Increasingly advanced technology developed with skill and ability to interpret new trends, has made porcelain stoneware an unrivalled product for adaptability and versatility: from the likeness to natural materials to its transformation with new tactile effects, Lea Ceramiche’s innovative products express the ever-present determination to experiment with new aesthetic codes and find ever-wider areas of use.
Take Care Slimtech
Consisting of two apparently different surfaces, Take Care is the result of a harmonious interchange. In Take, we see the continuous spatula finish between the resin and the cement, enriched by materials with varying reflective qualities. The finish is soft, almost velvety and depending on the type of light, can have an iridescent effect. Care has a more hybrid identity, like a natural fabric reworked to give a more tactile effect. It is the result of an innovative processing technique with intermixing substances that produce glossy, reflective and textured effects.
Take Care comes in large, thin slabs, with the combination of the two finishes giving the surfaces a simple aesthetic, a light but non-intrusive accent on walls and floors. Six colours are available in dusted and neutral shades, with warm and cool tones, that allow a perfect visual fusion between the two textures.
Lea Ceramiche, confirming their commitment to design, also incorporates Pad decors by French designer Patrick Norguet in the collection; Tamis and Oakland are two abstract patterns with irregular and imprecise lines, also made in ultra-thin sheets of 3m x 1m.
The collection is made in Slimtech slabs 5.5mm thick, the innovative large, thin slabs which combine extraordinary lightness, strength (thanks to the exclusive fibreglass reinforcement) and sustainability, due to production with reduced environmental impact regarding the use of raw materials and emissions.
This is a collection of traditional thickness which achieves an engineered stone effect.
Combining stones from four different quarries, whose characteristics are fused together, and adding original graphic designs, creates a stone which doesn’t exist in nature, but has a natural aesthetic quality and a very balanced effect.
A decorative style is present in the collection and is expressed in three contemporary textures: Line, Dot and Mark re-create lightweight effects that can be combined with natural and honed finishes of the base modules, to create flowing, coordinated environments.
Waterfall’s surface reproduces the iridescent effects typical of sedimentary rocks, with irregularities and variations of colour that mark the passage of time amplified on the large slabs 5.5mm thick. The collection, already in the Lea catalogue in the traditional thicknesses of 10.5mm and 20mm and with a large number of decors and special sizes, in Slimtech further increases the product range. For large works of architectures or to redefine the spaces in a house, the large Waterfall sizes produce a natural effect and guarantee the unmatched technical performance of the laminated porcelain tiles of Lea Ceramiche.
